Yahoo's stake in Alibaba is worthwhile as Alibaba'share prices soar. Yahoo owns about 39% stake in the Alibaba company and it is worth approximately $7.3 billion.

Shares of Alibaba increased by 192% on the company's first day of trading to $5.06 from $1.73.
